Packaging & Shipping Petals

When preparing your order for transport, please review our guidelines for packaging

and shipping flowers.  Below you will find information on drying your flower petals.

Be sure to download and complete the Terms & Conditions Form, as well as the Order Form if needed.  The forms can be found in the dropdown menu under "Ship Your Petals".

Drying Petals

Removing the Petals

Lightly grab the petals near their base and pluck quickly to remove them. You can also use scissors to snip the petals off as close to the base as possible.

There are several different ways to dry fresh flowers. Listed below are 2 methods including instructions. For additional methods you can search online “ How to Dry Flower Petals “

Oven Method:

1) Place Petals on a Baking Sheet - Evenly space your petals across a standard baking or cookie sheet.

2) Preheat Oven to 175° - A heat setting ranging from 165° to 185° degrees is highly recommended.

3) Heat Petals for 10-30 Minutes - Place the sheet of petals into the oven. Start with a minimal time — in the 10 minute range — to determine how the petals will do in your oven.

4) Check Regularly for Crisp Petals - Continuously monitor your flower petals in the oven. Once they appear dry or feel slightly crisp to the touch, it’s time to remove them. Keep in mind that leaving them in the oven too long will result in very crisp, even burned petals.

5) After removing from the oven allow them to air dry to room temperature before storing

Air Drying: Remove the petals from the base of the flower and place them on a paper towel without any petals overlapping. Allow the petals to sit in a dry place with no direct sunlight for several days. All flower petals dry differently, and times may vary. It could take 2-3 weeks before they are ready to safely ship.

Packaging Petals

1) Place your DRY petals into a sealable plastic bag and label the outside of the bag with your NAME and ORDER NUMBER. Petals must be COMPLETELY dry to ship in a plastic bag. To qualify as DRY petals must be crisp with no moisture. If you ordered multiple items and you want specific petals used for certain pieces, place the petals in separate bags and label each one individually with the item they are intended for.

2) Download and fill out the Terms & Conditions Form as well as the Order Form if needed.

3) Inside your package be sure to include your completed TERMS & CONDITIONS FORM, your DRIED PETALS, and your PAYMENT if paying by personal check or money order. If you have any special notes for us please include that as well.

4) Clearly label the outside of your package with your first and last name, your return address, and order number.

5) We recommend you DO NOT send ALL of your petals in the event that your package is lost in the mail. Please keep a second batch of your petals just in case.

Shipping Petals

  •  When mailing your flower petals to FHS we highly recommend USPS Priority Shipping due to the availability of a tracking number. However, depending upon the amount of petals you will be mailing, a more cost effective option may be to mail them in a flat cardboard envelope. Once your flowers are COMPLETELY DRIED, lay the petals flat inside a small white envelope, mark it with your name and order number, seal it, and place it in the cardboard envelope. *A tracking number is still recommended for proof of shipment and to locate it in the event it gets lost.

  • Please ensure you have paid adequate postage for your package. All packages received still owing shipping costs will be sent back to you, delaying your order’s progress.

  •  Please keep your tracking number until you receive confirmation that your package has arrived.

  • We will text or email you when we receive your package.
